Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Juicy and flavorful, not dry

  • Made with simple, fresh ingredients

  • Pan-seared for a golden crust

  • Great for burgers, bowls, or salads

Ingredients notes

  • Salmon: Fresh salmon fillets work best. Remove the skin and chop finely for the right texture.

  • Breadcrumbs: Help bind the patties while keeping them tender. Use gluten-free if needed.

  • Egg: Acts as a binder and keeps the burgers from falling apart.

  • Dijon mustard: Adds subtle tang and depth without overpowering the salmon.

  • Garlic & herbs: Bring freshness and balance to the rich fish.

  • Olive oil: Used for pan-searing and creating a crisp exterior.

How to make Salmon Burgers

Ingredients

Quantity

Dairy-free milk (almond, oat, etc.)

1 cup

Avocado oil (or melted butter)

1/2 cup

Honey (or cane sugar)

1/2 cup

Large egg

1

Medium grind cornmeal

3/4 cup

Gluten-free 1:1 flour blend

1 1/4 cups

Finely chop the salmon with a knife or pulse briefly in a food processor until coarsely minced. Avoid overprocessing.

Transfer the salmon to a bowl and add breadcrumbs, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic, herbs, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into patties. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 5–10 minutes to help them firm up.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the salmon patties and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the pan and let rest briefly before serving.

Serve in buns with your favorite toppings, or over salads or grain bowls.
